A traitoramong the regulars.

One phone goes from hand to hand. It deals the roles in secret, then the tavern keeper — the app, out loud — tells the night and the day. No game master: everyone plays.

Camille, here is your role

The phone goes round

Everyone holds it. Nobody gives themselves away.

Every night, the phone goes all the way round the table. Everyone names a suspect — that's the rumour — and the roles with powers act on top. From the outside every turn looks the same: no way to tell who just poisoned a glass.

Press and hold, everywhere
Opening your turn, confirming a vote, hiding your screen: everything is confirmed by holding your finger down. No secret choice betrayed by a clumsy tap.
The rumour
The name mentioned most during the night is announced in the morning. The Plotters can steer it too.
Turn order
The order of the player list, remembered from one game night to the next.

One night at the counter

Six moments, one voice to tell them.

The tavern keeper announces every step out loud — in French, with the iPhone's voice. Listen to it right here.

  1. 01 Dusk

    The deal

The phone goes from hand to hand: everyone discovers their role in secret, on a card that turns over. The Plotters learn who their accomplices are, the Gambler places a bet.

« Bienvenue au comptoir. Chacun à son tour, découvrez votre rôle en secret. »
  2. 02 Midnight

    The night

The phone goes round again. Everyone names a suspect; the Plotters choose by majority who drinks the poisoned glass, the Guard gives an alibi, the Barmaid compares two sides, the Pickpocket steals a vote.

« La nuit tombe sur le comptoir. Les verres s'entrechoquent, les regards se croisent. Passez le téléphone, chacun à son tour. »
  3. 03 Dawn

    The morning

The tavern keeper announces, one piece of news at a time: the victim and their side — never their role —, the alibis, the rumour, the stolen purse.

« Le jour se lève sur la taverne. Hugo a bu le verre empoisonné. C'était un Habitué. La rumeur accuse Inès. »
  4. 04 Noon

    The debate

A one-to-five-minute timer to accuse, defend, bluff. The Duellist can call a duel — and anyone who draws without a blade has their bluff exposed.

« Place au débat. Vous avez trois minutes pour démasquer les comploteurs. »
  5. 05 Evening

    The secret vote

Everyone votes alone, press and hold to confirm. The most-named player leaves the tavern; on a tie, a tavern brawl breaks out and nobody leaves.

« Le débat est clos. Chacun vote en secret : qui sort de la taverne ? »
  6. 06 Late

    The verdict

The count animates vote by vote. If the Bard falls, their last words reveal a side. Then night falls again — until one side wins.

« La taverne a tranché. Inès doit quitter la taverne. C'était un Comploteur. »

The roles

Three sides, eleven signs.

Original rules, not a port of an existing game. When a player falls their side is revealed, never their role: doubt lasts until the last card.

Le Comptoir pack — free and complete

Regulars

Unmask and throw out every Plotter.

  • Regular

No power, but your voice and your suspicions count: the morning rumour is you.

  • Barmaid

Each night, pick two players: you learn whether they are on the same side.

  • Guard

Each night, give someone an alibi (never the same player two nights running): they escape the poison and can't be condemned the next day.

  • Duellist

Once per game, in broad daylight, challenge someone to a duel: if they are a Plotter they fall; if not, you do.

Plotters

Be as many as everyone else still standing.

  • Plotter

You know your accomplices. Each night, together, you poison someone's glass.

  • Pickpocket

On top of the poison, each night you steal a player's vote: they won't vote tomorrow and your vote counts double.

Loners

Chase a personal goal, whoever wins.

  • Braggart

None. It's all in the bluff: be just suspicious enough.

  • Gambler

Your bet stays secret. Protect your favourite… quietly.

La Cave pack — in-app purchase

Three more roles for tables that already know the house. One-time purchase, no subscription.

  • Spy Regulars

Once per game, at night, read a player's exact role.

  • Bard Regulars

If you fall, your last words reveal to everyone the side of a player you choose.

  • Smuggler Loners

None: make every side forget about you.

The line-up

Say how many you are. The tavern fills itself.

The app builds a balanced table — roughly one Plotter per four players, information roles first, Loners only at big tables. Same calculation as here.

2 plotter(s)

Optional roles
  • Pickpocket
  • Plotter
  • Barmaid
  • Guard
  • Duellist

What the person holding the phone sees

Same tavern, another night

The regulars of Héros de Comptoir have secrets.

Complot au Comptoir borrows the sign, the side colours and the candle gold of Héros de Comptoir — but it's played after dark, in whispers, with one phone for the whole table.

Night falls…

Add the names, set the debate timer, put the phone in the middle of the table. The tavern keeper does the rest.
